This calming tea is ideal for restlessness, stress, anxiety and general worrying. Our busy lives are often pushed to reach for caffeine, a short acting fix, where we should really be having the oppposite, giving strength to clear minds and focus.
The organic herbs in this blend are carefully combined to support our adrenals, and digestive system.
Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) is traditionally used for its mild sedative and soothing properties, anxiety, stress management and for insomnia- making it perfect for our serenity blend. It is use d in clinical practice to support regular sleep patterns, nervous tension and restlessness and headaches.
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) is specific for all gastrointestinal disturbances associated with a nervous system connection. Chamomile is great in the treatment of IBS and colitis. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory which makes it useful in almost any condition. Chamomile is the perfect addition for serenity as has been found to be effective in the treatment of mild anxiety, insomnia and other nervous system conditions.
Elderflower (Sambucus) Commonly used for colds, flu, bronchitis and constipation, joint pain and inflammation. Rich in bioflavonoids that are most commonly known for their antioxidant. anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Elderflower's honey like floral taste make it a perfect addition to the other herbs in this blend.
Ashwagandha (withania somnifera) is known for its rejuvenating, balancing, strengthening and calming effect on the nervous system. The herb is useful for relieving fatigue, nervous exhaustion and incidentally, memory loss. A mild aruyvedic sedative, ashwagandha reduces mental chatter, and promotes calm sleep.
Calendula (Calendula officinalis) commonly called marigold and popular in cosmetic products, calendula is widely used as a medicinal plant whose antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties make it a strong ingredient for healing. Similar to its topical benefits, internally calendula soothes internal wounds and burns like ulcers, heartburn or irritable bowel syndrome.
Brewing : 2 heaped teaspoons per teapot (5g of tea to 450ml of water)
